How do you become an IFC-Certified Inspector?
The IFC certification is broken up into two separate categories, the Standard IFC Certification for Special Inspectors, which is awarded upon successful completion of the exam; and a Premier Level Certification, which is the highest level of IFC and is achieved once the certified individual receives the required product training. This training can be achieved in two ways, the first being a seminar that lasts two, eight-hour days, which reviews their products and applications. The second way requires the technician to meet with four major firestop manufacturers and receive two hours of training from each. Upon completion, a Premier Level certificate will be issued by the IFC and posted to their website.
